EY finally won! Finally! It was a wonderful feeling to know that I was part of a winning team. The finals was a closely fought match having both EY and KPMG relentlessly going up against each other. KPMG was defending its champion's title and EY was in search to end the drought.
I was set as the last player. At that point it was two wins per team, meaning all hopes were banked on me. Was I feeling any pressure? You bet I was!
For me, it was a truly tough match since my opponenet was an experienced player. May not be as young as I am but definitely experienced. The match lasted for four sets, and almost for 40 minutes.
For once in my entire life, I felt my body was really being pushed to the limit. The fact that I didn't have a regular squash game definitely had slowed my body down in many ways. Somehow, I pulled through and I won the match, therefore clenching the last win our team needed to be champions for this year.
Since this morning, my body has been aching and it'll probably stay this way until tomorrow. Worth it? I'd say it was a priceless moment for me. 1st year in the firm, 1st time playing for the firm and 1st win for the firm after so many years! :D
