8 gifts that cost nothing, and build relationships too!

Interpersonal skills are by far the most important skills one will need to hone in order to get around easily socially. I think I do lack certain key skills in trying to be better at socialising. Being Asian, socialising always seem to be a problem not only for myself but for many others who are Asian as well.

As usual I like browsing the web for self help tips and hopefully find some ideas to improve myself. I found 8 great simple tips that may help me improve myself in building. Check it out!!!

The Gift of Listening
But you must really listen. Don't interrupt, don't daydream, don't plan your response. Just listen.

The Gift of Affection
Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends.

The Gift of Laughter
Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."

The Gift of Solitude
There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others.

The Gift of a Favor
Everyday, go out of your way to do something kind.

The Gift of a Written Note
It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet. A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime.

The Gift of a Compliment
A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super job," or "That was a wonderful meal" can make someone's day.

The Gift of a Cheerful Disposition
The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone.

  1. I have to admit I have problems with The Gift of Affection. I'm not a hugger ... not physically demonstrative. I'll have to work on that one, I guess!

Early morning breakfast at a mamak store!

affiliate program Morning breakfast looks like this from the table. A quiet spot just outside the restaurant, cooling and comfortable. :) Mornings are a good time to have quiet time to just reflect on things and just let the mind relax before starting it off. Like any other Malaysian, food is of imperative importance! After all, can't let the mind work on an empty stomach now can we? Thosai Masala is definitely the way to go to start one's day off! Healthy food and plenty carbohydrate from the potato mix inside it. Hmmmmmm.......... mix your mouth all wait eh?  affiliate program

the price of love - take 3

Deep down inside each and every one of us lies an innate power to do things for another person. Some things that can be beyond explanation, sometimes even silly and sometimes just really impossible to imagine. What I am referring to really is the ability of us human beings to care for someone else. Actually if you think about it, all living beings on this planet show the innate ability to care for one another. It's amazing how one person can show so much care to another person without requiring a reason. I definitely admire those who are able to care for another person selflessly. I may not know my ability to care for another person but I know I'd give it a good shot in caring for someone I love - parents, siblings, girlfriend. Personally, I think the will to care for another person will come naturally like the rainbow after a rainy day. I think inside us resides a little vault of emotions that entwines itself to form a chemistry of emotions that manifests itself as a plethora ...

Entrepreneurship....

Every now and then, some people make it big time in the business world either from, pioneering a fresh new business strategy to improving something that is thought to be already at it's best. Entrepreneurs can be found in virtually any part of this world. I guess, when you think about an entrepreneur in a global perspective, the first few people you might think of would be - William H. Gates who founded Microsoft, Steve Jobs who brought to us the iPod or even Warren Buffet arguably the best investor in THE world. Bring it down to a narrower perspective, the local scene - Tony Fernandes co-founder of AirAsia and Teh Hong Piow founder of Public Bank Berhad (equivalent to a PLC), and of course there are many more! I guess, there are times when we sit down and ponder, "how exactly did these people turn out to be who they are?". Were they born with such innate ability? Did they have parents that constantly gave them inspiration to be their own boss? Did they have a natural eye...
